Week 2: NWGA Class AAA Preview

A look at where your 6AAA Teams are at this week

Adairsville Tigers (1-0)

The Tigers offense came alive in the 2nd half to score 35 points in knocking off Chattooga 35-14 on the road. The Tigers host rival Cass this Friday. The Colonels are 1-0 after beating Dawson Co. 27-19. 

Coahulla Creek Colts (1-0)

The Colts made history Friday night knocking off NW Whitfield in 3 OTs. The 1st time they have beaten a ranked opponent and the rival Bruins in the 9 year history of the program. Coahulla Creek will attempt to add to the record books Friday when they host SE Whitfield, looking for their 1st ever back to back wins. 

Sonoraville Phoenix (1-0)

The Phoenix shutout the Model Blue Devils 21-0 on the road Friday. Junior RB Zach Lyles accounted for 197 yds and 2 TDs in the win. The Phoenix are off this week but will be back in action next Friday when they travel to Chattooga. 

Murray Co. Indians (1-0)

The Indians came out on top of a 35-34 shootout with SE Whitfield. Murray Co is off this week and will be back in action next week when they host the Gilmer Bobcats. 

Ringgold Tigers (0-0)

Their game with rival Heritage was cancelled this week but not to worry. The Tigers will travel to Elijay in a special Thursday night football edition to open their season. 

LaFayette Ramblers (0-0)

The Ramblers will get the Andy Scott era underway Friday night when they travel to Shannon to take on the Model Blue Devils. It will be a good test for the LaFayette offense against one of the Top defenses in the area. 

LFO Warriors (0-0) 

The Warriors had their season opener with Heritage cancelled. They will open this week on the road at 6A Gordon Lee. 

North Murray Mountaineers (0-0)

Back to back byes for the Mountaineers to open the season. We will still have to wait another week to see the 2021 edition take the field for the 1st time at NW Whitfield. 

#10 Rockmart Yellow Jackets (0-1)

The Jackets put together a solid defensive effort last week falling to the Rome Wolves 23-7. It doesn’t get any easier this week as they travel across Polk County to face #4 AAAA Cedartown.
