A few quick takeaways from the Spring games we watched or seen highlights of.
- The Darlington Tiger OL/DL is good, real good. Gus Gammage, Gatlin Hancock and company will be a handful.
- NW Bruin QB Owen Brooker looks to take up where he left off last season. He threw for 285 yds and 3 TDs in his one half of play.
- We know North Murray Mountaineer QB Seth Griffin but they have a slew of young guys that will keep the fans at NM happy for a few years. Skyler Williams, Aiden Ellis, Judson Petty.
- The Rome Wolves will be very good. Get used to seeing Reece Fountain to Martel Hight.
- Chattooga has a new QB, Brady Groce, listed at 6’6 200. Real good arm and has a heck of a target in speedster Nic Hester. Threw for 175 and a couple of TDs.
- The Armuchee Indians have a good 2024 class on defense. Ryland Steen and Jackson Coonley combined for 13 TT in their scrimmage.
- How will Trion be post Rob Brown? They looked good Friday with Toby Maddux and Logan Eller getting carries and Soph QB Kade Smith looked good running the offense.
- Is Coahulla Creek a playoff team? Could be. Senior QB Kace Kinnamon looked good throwing the ball Friday and NG Robbie Wiggans is a force on the DL.
- Dade Co has some size in the backfield. Rising Junior Braylon Sullivan (6’3 190) and Senior Zeke Wheeler (6’4 205) ran the ball well Friday. Throw in Senior QB Brody Cooper at 6’3 185 and you have your hands full.
- Pickens Co LB Kadyn Hampton looks well on his way to his 3rd consecutive 100 tackle season.
- Dalton Catamount opponents will get a steady dose of RB Tyson Greenwade in ’22.
- Cass beat Paulding Co. Rising Junior and highly recruited WR Sacovie White and Rising Soph Kaden Ellis turned heads.
