Rome Wolves

Head Coach: John Reid

Contact: @FootballRome

2020: 8-4 (2nd in 7AAAAAA)

2021 Outlook: Usually I’m open to debate but not on this issue, the Wolves have the best underclassman class in NwGa.

Offense: ’24 QB Reece Fountain takes over the signal calling fulltime in 2021 after throwing for over 1000 yards last season after taking over midway through 2020. Solid receiving core with 6’3 ’24 Martavious Collins and 6’1 ’23 Martel Hight returning and fellow sophomore Shaun Nelson figuring to get most of the work at the running back spot with the graduation of EJ Lackey.

Defense: The defense will have to replace graduating senior Bryant Wilkinson who led the NwGa area in sacks in 2020. A very talented group of young guys return along with Senior defensive lineman Jalen White. Juniors Stephiylan Green, 1st Team All Region as a sophomore, and Tyson Brown return on the DL for the Wolves. Solid returning secondary with Hight, 2nd Team All Region in ’20 and rising Senior Bryson Hill, 1st Team All Region. I’m curious to see who steps up at the LB spot this off season for the Wolves. Rising Sophomore Alto Moore has the potential to be a good one over these next 3 years.

NwGAFootball Take: POTENTIAL! The Wolves have a lot of young talent in all the right spots and if they put in the work they have the opportunity to be better than the ’17-18 team.

Prediction: I know its a tough Region but I’m going on a limb here early in the Spring and say the Wolves win the Region Title in ’21.
