NwGAFootball Superlatives

I had the opportunity to see 14 games this season all over the NwGa Area. I really enjoyed the Mid week and Saturday additions to the schedule and I hope they continue next season, minus the Covid.

These are most memorable performances I saw live this season:

Top Running Back Performance (Game):

Joe Wallace (Model): On a special Tuesday night game the Blue Devil Senior rushed 35 times for 240 yards and 5 TDs in a 49-7 win to clinch a playoff spot.

Top Running Back Performance (Quarter):

Seth Reece (Fannin): 4th Quarter vs Pace in the 2nd round of the playoffs. He refused to be stopped on the final series allowing Fannin to run the clock out.

Top QB Performance (Game):

Luke Holloway (Fannin): The Rebel senior QB had over 300 yards total offense in 36-23 win over Pepperell.

Top QB Performance (Quarter):

Makinley Everett (Dade): The senior QB was 11 of 17 for 195 and 2 TDs in just the 2nd Q vs Coosa. He was on track for a huge game before missing the 2nd half with a sprained ankle.

Top Performance WR :

Dylan Matthews (Adairsville): Got to see this guy in back to back weeks have huge games. 1st vs North Murray then had a 13 catch game vs Dawson County in the 1st Rd of the playoffs.

Best Defensive Performance:

Rome Wolves vs East Paulding: The Wolves held East Paulding to just 3 points and D1 junior RB Justin Williams to just 100 yards on 27 carries.

Heritage Generals vs Temple: The Generals dominated the Tigers tough running game holding them to a lone TD.

Best Performance Team:

Adairsville Tigers vs North Murray: needing a win to keep their hopes for a home playoff game, the Tigers pulled out all the stops early, onside kicks, fake punts, to mount a huge 1st quarter lead over the Mountaineers.

Underclassman we noticed:

Seth Reece (Fannin)

Cason Owensby (Fannin)

Brodie Swader (Dade)

DJ Rogers (Pepperell)

Riley Bell (Haralson)

Bryce Travillian (Heritage)

JJ House (Armuchee)
