Rome Wolves travel to Douglas County with a home playoff game on the line.
No better place to spend Friday the 13th than at a high school football game. Are you looking for a game to watch? Here are some of the best in our Area for this week.
#5 Cartersville Purple Hurricanes at #6 Calhoun Yellow Jackets: Two of the most storied teams in our area go head to head as region foes in 2020. The winner will host a playoff game the day after Thanksgiving and the loser will be on the road.
Central-Carrollton Lions at #5 Cedartown Bulldogs: 7AAAA Region title is on the line Friday night in Cedartown. The Bulldogs have been one of the hottest teams in NWGA over the last month but they will have their hands full with the States leading rusher Narada Levett.
North Murray Mountaineers at Adairsville Tigers: Winner finishes 2nd in 6AAA and hosts a playoff game Nov 27th. Not many players playing better than Mountaineer senior Dante Tidwell right now. The Tigers will have to regroup after last weeks disappointing loss to Region leading Rockmart.
#11 Rome Wolves at #13 Douglas Co Tigers: Winner will host a playoff game. The Wolves have found a little momentum on offense the last 3 weeks behind highly touted freshman QB Reece Fountain. They will have to contend with a couple of 4 Star DEs for the Tigers, seniors Jonathan Jefferson (UGA) and Joshua Robinson (GA Tech).
A couple games in 7AA with playoff implications: Coosa at Fannin Co: The Rebels are 1 win away from clinching the Region title.
Gordon Central at Dade Co: Playoff elimination game in Trenton. Winner still has hopes of sneaking into the 4 spot in the Region. Both teams fan base will be cheering hard for the Pepperell Dragons Friday night as they host Chattooga. A win would clinch the 4 spot for the Indians.
Notes:
* LaFayette Rambler fans are cheering hard this week for Sonoraville. A win by Ringgold likely eliminates them from playoff contention.
* Rockmart is the 6AAA Region Champs with the cancelation of this weeks Lafayette game.
* Heritage and Pickens square off this week. Winner takes control of their postseason destiny.
* The Bowdon Red Devils can wrap up the 6A Public title with a win over BEST Friday night.
