Adairsville Tigers

Head coach: Eric Bishop

2020: 6-4 (2nd in 6AAA)

2021 Outlook:

The Tigers will have have to replace a handful of seniors that made an impact last season.

Offense: The Tigers will be working in a new QB in 2021, replacing graduating Senior Conner Crunkelton. Rising Junior Chris Roper is slated to take over heading into the Spring and is a dual threat out of the backfield. Rising Sophomore QB Jonathan Gough (6’1 188) has the potential to emerge as a playmaker in 2021. One of the top 2 way players in 6AAA, Eli Agnew, returns in the backfield. The 5’9 190 Senior has big play potential every time he carries the ball. Evan Sanders (6’3 200) returns at WR and will be a big target for the new signal caller. The Tigers lose a lot of experience on the OL but Sophomore Bobby Campbell, who was the top freshman OL in NwGa for 2020, and Senior Tifton Worthington return to anchor the offensive line.

Defense: The Tigers will be looking to replace a very good graduating DL this off season but they may have the best combo of linebackers/secondary in 6AAA returning in 21. Linebacker Tokyo Gordon returns after averaging 12 TT per game in 2020 along with rising Sophomore Reese Alexander who has the potential to be a big time player in 6AAA. Solid secondary with Eli Agnew and Chris Roper returning along with CB Isaac Linley. Senior Andrew Beckrow will be counted on to lead the DL.

NwGaFootball Take: The Tigers are missing a lot of playmakers from 2020 but they have a solid returning group. The question marks are QB and DL. If those positions gel this off season the Tigers have the potential to compete once again for a home playoff game.

Prediction: 3rd in 6AAA
