6AAA Preview

Welcome to the 6AAA Preview page. Each week Chris Napier @Nappythewise will bring you previews and predictions, players to watch and much more for Region 6AAA.

Game Of The Week

Rockmart 3-1(2-0) At North Murray 2-1 (2-0)

A rare region matchup where defending Region champs face off. In 2019, Rockmart was the 7AA Region Champions and North Murray was the 6AAA Champions.

The drivers seat to the 2020 6AAA Region is on the line tonight. The Jackets led by SR. QB Javin Whatley can score on anybody, the question is can the Mountaineer offense keep pace against a dominate Rockmart defense. There will be a lot of next level talent on the field this evening at North Murray High school. This should be a good one.

Calpreps: Rockmart -13

Adairsville 3-1 (2-0) At Ringgold 3-2 (2-1)

Last week: Adairsville defeated LaFayette 43-14, Ringgold defeated Murray County 34-13

Adairsville is coming off a big Region win over LaFayette and want to keep the momentum going, but The Ringgold Tigers led by Jr. RB Kori Dumas have other plans.

Dumas and the Ringgold offense will face off against a tough Adairsville defense led by KJ Weaver, Courtney Slocum, and Tokyo Gordon. This game has huge playoff implications.

Pick: Adairsville by 3

Murray County 1-4 (0-3) at Coahulla Creek 1-2 (0-1)

Last week: Murray County lost to Ringgold 34-13, Coahulla Creek- Off

After a disappointing start to the season, the Indians are looking to get back in the win column. The Colts, coming off a Covid hiatus, are just looking to get back on the field. For the Indians to pull out a win they will have to neutralize the rushing attack of Tyler Locklear who is averaging over 130 yards per game.

Kaleb Jones and the Murray County offense will also have their work cut out for them against the Colt defense led by SR. LB Titus Underwood. I like the Colts at home.

Pick: Coahulla Creek by 7

Sonoraville 2-2 (0-2) at LFO 0-4 (0-2)

Last Week: Sonoraville lost to North Murray 40-20, LFO-BYE

Sonoraville hopes to keep their playoff hopes alive when they visit LFO. The LFO Warriors who had a much improved performance against Ringgold have their hands full with Sonoraville’s SR QB Brady Lackey and star receiver JoJo McDaniels. I like the Phoenix in this battle.

Pick: Sonoraville by 14

BYE- LaFayette
