This Week:
Sonoraville (0-1) at North Murray (1-1):
Game of The Week in 6AAA.
Last week: Sonoraville hung with the Region leading Yellow Jackets early but Rockmart pulled away late for a 50-28 win. North Murray got a big game from QB Seth Griffin (300+ yds) and WR Michael McDade (220 yds 4 TDs) to pull away from Coahulla Creek 50-28.
NwGaFootball Take: The task for the Phoenix defense is slowing the Mountaineer passing attack which is averaging over 300+ yds per game. Sonoraville’s star RB Zach Lyles left Fridays game after the 1st Q with a stinger (had 88 yds offense in 1st Q) and will be a big factor if Sonoraville is to win on the road. Pick: North Murray
What it means: I think a win here is more important for North Murray than Sonoraville. The Mountaineers are sitting at 1-1 with a loss to Ringgold with Adairsville and Rockmart still on the slate. A loss here would make any tie break scenarios tough for North. Sonoraville would love to have the win but even if they start 0-2 in the Region it would be against the Top 2 preseason favorites in 6AAA with a lot of important games left to play.
LFO (0-2) at Coahulla Creek (0-2):
Last Week: Gutsy game on the road by the Colts on the road at North Murray dropping a hard fought one 50-28. Take about 6 min away in that game and the Colts played the Mountaineers even. The Warriors ran into one of the hottest teams in NwGa last week, Ringgold, dropping to the Tigers 56-0.
NwGaFootball Take: The Colts have a chance to make history Friday night in front of the home crowd as they are favored to win their 3rd game of the season which would be the most in the 10 year history of the program. The Warriors are still looking for their 1st points of the season and would love to have a break out game this week and spoil the fun Pick: Coahulla Creek
What It Means: The Colts need a win here to stay in the post season hunt. They are sitting at 0-2 but both loses have come to the preseason Top 2 teams in the Region (Rockmart, North Murray).

LaFayette (2-0) at Adairsville (1-0):
Last Week: LaFayette racked up 345 yards offense in a 28-12 win over Murray County. Senior Jaylon Ramsey had 210 yards and 3 TDs. Adairsville was Idle.
NwGaFootball Take: The Ramblers have been one of the more surprising teams in NwGa early in 2021, especially on the defensive side of the ball, allowing less than 10 points per game. They will need it this week as they face a rested Adairsville Tiger team that is 3-0 overall and averages close to 40 points per game on offense. Pick: Adairsville
What It Means: Early season showdown between 2 teams in current playoff spots. Neither team has a win versus a preseason playoff “contender” so this one is important to get under your belt. They each have the Big 3 remaining (Rockmart, North Murray, Ringgold) and a loss this week creates some must win games down the road.
Murray Co (0-2) at Ringgold (2-0):
Last Week: Murray Co lost on the road at LaFayette 28-12. Ringgold held LFO to under 100 yards offense in a 56-0 win.
NwGaFootball Take: The Tigers are on a roll on both sides of the ball. They are outscoring their opponents by an average of 44-14 in Region play, a tough task for the Indians this week. The goal for the Tiger is to stay healthy with a big one in Adairsville next Friday. Pick: Ringgold
What It Means: Ringgold has their eyes set on a home playoff game and a possible Region Title. They will need to show up Friday and avoid the letdown as they keep moving forward.
Rockmart: Idle
