This Week:

Ringgold Tigers (3-0) at Adairsville Tigers (2-0):

Ringgold beat Murray Co 78-0 last week, scoring 52 points in the 1st half.

Adairsville held off a tough LaFayette team 22-6 at home.

Definitely the game of the week in 6AAA. Ringgold has won their 3 Region games by an average score of 55 to 9. This version of the Tigers is loaded on the offensive side of the ball. Senior RB Kori Dumas and Junior Peyton Williams are a heck of a one two punch. Throw in Malachi Hill and QB Mason Parker and you have your hands full as a defensive coordinator.

Adairsville is led by Senior RB/LB Eli Agnew and this version of the Tigers will lean heavily on him and Junior Chris Roper on both sides of the ball Friday night. Soph QB Johnathan Gough has been a bright spot this year. If the game comes down to OL/DL play these Tigers have one of the best young guys in Soph Bobby Campbell anchoring the line at 6’3 270.

I can’t decide if this game is going to eclipse the 100 point mark or be a 7-0 defensive struggle. The fans at Adairsville Friday night should be in for a real treat.

The Winner of this game draws a bullseye on the Rockmart Yellow Jackets for the Region Title and will be the front runner for a home playoff game. The Loser..well Sonoraville will draw a bullseye on them as the Phoenix try and work their way back into a postseason spot.

Calpreps: EVEN

North Murray Mountaineers (2-1) at Rockmart Yellow Jackets (2-0):

North Murray held off a late charge last week by Sonoraville in a 27-20 win. Rockmart was idle.

North Murray will have to rely heavily on the OL to give Junior QB Seth Griffin to find his receivers Friday. News broke this week that Senior Michael McDade was lost for the season. Tough blow for the Mountaineers but they have a couple guys in Jr. Jadyn Rice and Soph Judson Petty who are capable of putting up big numbers.

Rockmart wins: On their way to a showdown with the winner of Ringgold v Adairsville for the Region Title.

North Murray wins: The winner of Ringgold v Adairsville becomes your 6AAA frontrunner and the Mountaineers are in good shape for a home playoff game.

Coahulla Creek Colts  (1-2)  at Murray Co Indians (0-2):

Coahulla Creek beat LFO 38-12 to notch the most wins in program history. Murray Co had a rough week losing to Ringgold 78-0.

Coahulla Creek broke the wins mark for the program but they are not just happy with that. They are still very much in the playoff hunt and need to avoid a let down in Chatsworth to give that goal intact. Murray Co will play spoiler for the rest of 2021. Good feeling to know you made someone stay home in November.

LFO Warriors (0-2)  at Sonoraville Phoenix (0-2):

The Phoenix ran out of time last week, dropping 27-20 to North Murray. LFO showed some live in the 2nd half of their game in Coahulla Creek losing 38-12.

The Phoenix have gotten the 2 preseason favorites out of the way early (Rockmart, North Murray) now its time to put a winning streak together.

LFO is a big underdog in this game but never say never. The Warriors upset Sononraville last season in what was the 2020 Upset of The Year and the win kept the Phoenix home come playoff time.
